Featuring Grrouchie's Gripes!
"The Scumdogs are getting hard to ignore - but this is about the point in the season where we can expect Lamar to get injured or a few players to underperform for 3 weeks straight and drop them to the middle of the pack.
Are the Scumdogs going to keep putting it together or will they crumble under the pressure of having no bench and being too top heavy?"
"The Scumdogs are on a tear, but they will face their biggest test yet: Lamar is hurt. If pro bowler Snoop Huntley can hold down the fort for the Ravens while Lamar heals up, Grrouchie will be fine. If not, well, that significantly limits the upside of Henry and Flowers. OH, and Tee Higgins is also hurt."
"As one of 2 undefeated teams, the Tots are getting top billing based on Depth alone. They can survive a couple of injury scares and still not miss a beat. Â
Is this the year for the tots?"
"One smart start/sit decision made all the difference this week for Michael Scott's Tots, though this team would probably still be ranked #2 if they ended up starting Harvey and tieing against Fuzzy Logic. Still, this team is a monster even when their best players have unusual down weeks (looking at you Josh Allen and JSN), I have no doubts they will continue to roll through the regular season."
"Codycast has a problem with the Scumdogs and the current problem is that the Scumdogs keep breaking their undefeated streaks. Last year the same thing happened and then Codycast woke up and never looked back as they won a championship.  Are they overlooking? Are they just allowing the Scumdogs to build confidence? Whatever it is, the Scumdogs are kryptonite."
"Yikes, what on Earth happened to Codycast this week? This roster had a whole slew of poopy pants performers all at the exact worst time possible. I really hope this is a one off and not the new norm for Codycast because they will need to bring their A game during their matchup against Michael Scott's Tots in Week 5."
"The ranking is correct, the pre-season predictions of this team making noise were also correct. Â
From being a bottom dweller the last few years, this team cannot be taken lightly or they will punch you in the face.
This week they took a shot (or 3) of Scotch and put up 176 points. Holy Moly.
Let's hope the Scumdogs face them on a bad week."
"Alright, here's where we get spicy - Shiva at #3. Down week for Egbuka and Waller and okay but sub 10 point performances from Juwan Johnson and Woody Marks? Doesn't matter because CJ Stroud, Kyren Williams, Kyle Monangai (do do do do do), CeeDee Lamb, and KenBone Walker combine for *checks notes* 152.48 points. Heck, Shiva could have sat half their starting roster and still won their matchup on the week. The sky is the limit when you have this much upside."
"Suffering their first loss - NGB forgot to suit up several players this week. Chase got injured, Ladd - Uh... has a Herbert problem, Lloyd is NOT the savior he was made out to be - Kincaid is contractually obligated to only have 2 or 3 good games a year and this was not it -Â
But the good news is that even though the other BRob was benched for disciplinary reasons - if he started it would not have changed the outcome."
"On paper, this team is still amazing, but injuries and inconsistent play from high end talent have NotGreatBob on the verge of reverse NBA Jam rules (even though only one down week expectation wise resulted in a loss). One has to imagine the next few weeks are going to be really telling for this team: can they overcome their RB1 being on bye at the same time two of the best WRs on this team (Chase and McConkey) are likely to miss a few weeks due to injuries/byes? Oh, and NGB has to figure all of this out while facing off against the Scumdogs and Shivablasts in back to back weeks."
"Dirty Mike is on the rise after his boys beat down NGB who is always in contention. But, ultimately, in the battle of the Two BRobs - only one could win.
oh
and hey
Welcome back Nico Collins!!!!"
"Another potentially spicy take here, putting Dirty Mike at #5 over NotGreatBob. My rationale here is simple, Dirty Mike is one game away from NBA Jam rules. Ever since the Falcons got Penix back at QB, this team has been firing on all cylinders. OH, and they got Nico back this week too, which really helped. If HartyPGA can figure out some more consistency at the flex positions, this roster might morph into a top tier roster capable of making a big run."
"Alvin Kamara Defies Logic"
"And here we are, the belt owner of the title "the best of the worst". This ragtag team of nobodies + Nabers/Puka put up a good fight, but ultimately choked at the worst possible time. While the talent is definitely there to put up some numbers when needed, one has to wonder how this loss will impact the players psychologically. I fully expect this team to fall on their face and give 1-Putt their first win of the season."
"You know when you like a team but they are not quite ready for Prime Time - That's where Pads sits this season.
Yeah.
This is like a bad grilled cheese sandwhich
It's not great, but it's still pretty good, but you aren't going to request it - you'll just accept it if that is what you are presented with."
"Oh hey! There's the Get Out I've been waiting weeks to see! And Pads somehow was so dominate that they decided to effectively not play a starting RB or a Flex this week. Now, the biggest question here is can Get Out string together two weeks of good performances together and get back to back wins. It'll be hard to do without Tet in Week 5, but I believe."
"If you are starting DK Metcalf, you deserve to lose.
No - I'm not f'n bitter."
"Not sure it makes the loss feel any better, but take some comfort knowing this: there was no way to win this week even if you played a perfect roster, and not because your perfect roster was abhorrently bad (seriously, basically 120 points is average), but because your opponent just went nuclear this week. Still, things are not looking good for this roster long term. Hurts looks like he's leveled down, Bill is not doing anything special, Henderson is not being used properly AND it feels like he's barely on the field, and Gadsden is just failing to perform because the Chargers SUCK. At least Boston and Jeanty look like potential centerpiece players to build around."
"The future is bright. Burrow - Love - Golden - Tate - that is a great backbone.
The present, not so much - Wilson is a rental, Strange, Williams and wetjen are all JAGs and I don't mean they play in Florida."
"Wel, um, hm. I kind of at a loss for words right now. Clearly Prestige has been working on something in the labs because this team went off this week. Golden no longer looks like a bust, Tate looks like him in Tennessee (we'll see if Ward can get him the ball consistently though), and some dudes named Emanuel Wilson and Dohnte Meyers absolutely showed up when their numbers were called. There's still a way to go before this team can be competitive, but things are finally looking up for Prestige Worldwide."
"The biggest disappointment of the 1st quarter of the season so far.
Goff, Hampton, Tuten, Washington, Loveland...
This had so much promise to start the year.
Still time to make noise - Still time to play disruptor, still time to regroup and play like the team that I thought you were."
"I'm so confused as to why 1-Putt is failing to make any noise given the talent on this roster. Let's break it down a little bit: Goff is a solid starter with week winning upside, the Jaguars (Tuten, Washington, and Meyers) have been balling out/pass the eye ball test but are somehow consistently disappointing for fantasy, Hampton is a first round NFL draft pick that has shown flashes of being AMAZING in the past but is somehow broken this year, and Loveland was THAT DUDE to end the year last year but has done basically nothing this year. This might be a situation where we're 1 year away these players actually consistently doing something on the NFL field, sadly."
"Delta Squad has a guy that they want to draft and NO ONE will stand in their way.
But hey, TLaw finally developed."
"This team feels straight up BROKEN and I'm not sure there's anything that can be done to fix is this season. The biggest question on everyone's mind is when will Delta Squad rip off the bandaid and begin the rebuild process, because OneTyrell probably owns the easiest path to drafting Jeremiah Smith now."
